Korean pronunciation dictionary
This page gives the pronunciation in Korean of various terms relating to food, beverages, and common ingredients.
음식과 음료, 식재료 관련 용어의 한국어 발음을 제시한다.
The terms are given first in bold in hangul, followed by the phonetic respelling in hangul in square brackets ([ ]) if the pronunciation is different from the original spelling. This is followed by the name in hanja where it exists, and the name in English. The latter follows the standard translation by the National Institute of the Korean Language where available. The romanization is given first in the official Revised Romanization used in South Korea (RR) and second in the older McCune–Reischauer system (MR) which is widely used outside of South Korea, in the variant used by the American Library Association – Library of Congress (ALA-LC). Next, the phonemic transcription is given between slashes (/ /) followed by the phonetic transcription in square brackets ([ ]), both in the International Phonetic Alphabet (see: IPA transcription of Korean).
