Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) 조선민주주의인민공화국

For North Korean names, the McCune–Reischauer romanization (MR) is given first and the Revised Romanization (RR) second. Optional spaces as per South Korean usage are marked with the caret (^), but in North Korean usage these are invariably written without spaces. South Korean standard pronunciations are followed, except that word-initial ㄹ and 니 are kept in both spelling and pronunciation following the North Korean standard. This is also reflected in the romanizations used here.
